This conference on the theme of an integrated approach to population and related development issues stressed the need to take into full consideration relevant population factors in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes for achieving overall national development goals, and recognized the influence of development on population dynamics. The present publication includes a selection of background papers, working papers and special papers prepared for the conference.
