Training Workshop on National Inclusion Accounts Methodology

-

This training workshop is part of the UN Development Account project titled “Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth in a Society for All Ages in the Post-COVID-19 Era in Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean.” The project, implemented by UN DESA, ECLAC and ESCAP, aims to strengthen capacities in eight pilot countries: Colombia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Uruguay, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Maldives and Viet Nam, to utilize National Inclusion Accounts (NIAs) for evidence-based policymaking.

During this two-day virtual training workshop, held on 26 and 28 November 2024, participants from Asia and the Pacific will explore the methodology of National Inclusion Accounts (NIA), an essential tool for understanding the economic effects of population ageing and promoting inclusive and sustainable growth. Organized by ESCAP and UN DESA, the workshop will introduce key concepts and provide practical exercises for disaggregating National Transfer Accounts (NTAs) by educational level, income level and family structure, thereby supporting evidence-based policymaking.
