This thirteenth issue of the Statistical Yearbook for Asia and the Pacific presents regional and national statistical series available through the end of 1980 for ESCAP members and associate members. It brings together data on population, labour, national accounts, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, industry, energy, consumption, transport, communications, internal and external trade, wages, prices, household expenditure, finance and social conditions. Regional indicator tables compare the world, the ESCAP region and the developing ESCAP region, followed by integrated statistical profiles and detailed tables for 38 countries and territories. An annex provides additional statistics for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, while further annexes identify principal sources and conversion coefficients. The volume supports comparative analysis and long-term trend assessment by standardizing classifications and index bases where possible and by presenting time series, census results and survey data with explanatory notes.
