South-East Asia - Stakeholder Consultation for the Asia-Pacific Fifth MIPAA Review and Appraisal

This stakeholder consultation is being organized in the lead-up to the Asia-Pacific Fifth Review and Appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA), tentatively scheduled for June 2027. Guided by General Assembly resolution 79/147 and ECOSOC resolution 2025/8, ESCAP is soliciting non-governmental stakeholder feedback on the implementation of MIPAA, in Asia and the Pacific.

The consultation is being organized by ESCAP with the Stakeholder Advisory Group on Ageing and seeks to identify good practices and remaining challenges in MIPAA implementation in Asia and the Pacific, identify recommendations to accelerate implementation and facilitate collaboration and participation in the regional review and appraisal process.

The consultation focuses on South-East Asia, utilizes breakout rooms and guided discussions to facilitate knowledge sharing of perspectives, outcomes of programmes and policies, as well as to highlight future collaborative opportunities.

Consultations with stakeholders from other subregions within Asia and the Pacific are forthcoming and more information on this will be shared in due course.
