To support and empower women entrepreneurs, ESCAP Subregional office for South and South-West Asia (ESCAP SSWA) is implementing a project on digital skill development of MSMEs led by women entrepreneurs. The project aims to address challenges faced by women entrepreneurs such as lack of digital skills, unequal access to technology, urban-rural disparities, and socio-cultural norms that hinder women's rights and their access to technologies. The project adopts a comprehensive approach to help women entrepreneurs tap into local, regional, and international markets by using e-commerce and digital marketing tools. As part of the project, a skill development programme is being organized in collaboration with the Department of Commerce (DGFT) during 03-04 September 2025. This programme will have two components: (i) a training for trainers for selected participants, and (ii) a training of MSMEs led by women entrepreneurs in enhancing this knowledge on how to use digital skills for doing online business.
