As a regional institution of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) is mandated to work with ESCAP members and associate members, as well as other relevant stakeholders to promote sustainable agricultural mechanization for food security, improved rural livelihoods and sustainable development of agriculture across the region, thereby contributing to the attainment of the Sustainable Developments Goals. The current members of the Governing Council are China, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Viet Nam.
The twenty-first session of the Council will review the work report of CSAM for 2025 and the administrative and financial status of the Centre in 2025, as well as provide direction for the Centre’s programme of work for 2026.
