South-East Asia Briefing for Ritsumeikan University 2025

In today’s increasingly interconnected world, the urgency of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 has never been greater. Recognizing the vital roles played by the United Nations, its Member States, and civil society is essential to ensuring that no one is left behind. The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is committed to fostering greater understanding of global development challenges and equipping students with knowledge of the United Nations' essential work in the region and beyond.

In collaboration with the Faculty of International Relations at Ritsumeikan University, ESCAP is pleased to host a study visit to its headquarters in Bangkok. This visit provides students with a unique opportunity to engage directly with United Nations personnel and gain first-hand insights into the functioning and impact of the Organization. Through interactive briefings and exchanges, the programme aims to bridge academic learning with real-world international policymaking.
