Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Prime Minister of Cambodia H.E. Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of Nauru H.E. Baron Divavesi Waqa and UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCAP Armida Alisjahbana are among the regional leaders and dignitaries officiating the 75th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) next week.
Held under the theme ‘Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality,’ the annual session will comprise a ministerial segment from 27 to 28 May, and a senior officials segment from 29 to 31 May. The Special Body on Least Developed, Landlocked Developing and Pacific Island Developing Countries will be held on 28 May.
Countries are set to examine how empowerment and inclusion, achieved through sustainable and secure access to basic opportunities and a decent income, are fundamental factors for social mobility and achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the region.
