Scaling up Gender-Lens Financing at SDG Action Weekend 2023

This side event will form an essential part of the SDG Action Weekend by showcasing innovations and collaborations of different stakeholders in scaling up gender-lens financing, aiming to contribute substantially to all SDGs, the 2030 Agenda, the Paris Agreement, and the UN High Impact Initiatives.

This 90-minute in-person event is designed to advocate for sustainable development financing, with a special emphasis on gender-lens investments across all SDGs. The discourse will revolve around advancements in gender and financing, as well as commitments to expand gender-lens financing to expedite progress in diverse sectors such as Energy, Education, Food Systems, and Climate Change.

The event will feature senior representatives from across Asia and the Pacific sharing their visions for promoting gender equality through investment in their respective country context. High-level speakers from the development sector will discuss the role of development banks in realizing country-level visions and leveraging the momentum created by the private sector. Leaders from the private sector, including experts in impact investment, capital mobilization, and impact measurement and management, will also share insights on the latest innovations, trends and opportunities in Gender-Lens Financing for the SDGs.

Through the innovative examples and announcements made during the event, this session aims to invigorate momentum on financing for sustainable development and the realization of the SDG Stimulus High Impact Initiatives.
