LIFT4LAOS: IPO Study Tour to Perth, Australia is a capacity-building programme designed to strengthen mining governance and investment management in Lao PDR. The study tour brings together senior government officials and UN ESCAP representatives to learn from Australia's experience in mining regulation, investment screening, environmental and social safeguards, post-approval monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and dispute resolution. Through site visits, participation in the Iron Ore and Open Pit Operators Conference, investor engagement activities, and technical workshops, participants will gain practical insights to support mining governance reforms and sustainable resource development in Lao PDR.

The study tour is conducted as part of the LIFT4LAOS project, funded by the Government of Australia and implemented by ESCAP to support investment climate reforms, strengthen institutional capacity, and promote sustainable and inclusive economic development in Lao PDR.
